Welcome!

The Michelago Region is the gateway to the Snowy Monaro which stretches from the south of Canberra to the Victorian border, alongside the magnificent Snowy Mountains to the west and the coastal escarpment to the east.

It is an area of amazing history, spectacular scenery, national parks and reserves, the headwaters of the mighty Murrumbidgee River, great food growing, and warm friendly people – even on the coldest and foggiest of days!

Come and visit us, stay with us, perhaps even live with us, and enjoy what this beautiful part of the world has to offer.

Help make a difference in the Michelago community

There are many ways to become involved in your community. One way is to join the Michelago Region Community Association (MRCA). It costs only $10 per individual or $15 per family. Payment details are on the membership form. Complete the form and email it to mrca@michelagoregion.org.au

MRCA maintains the Michelago Railway Station. It has raised grant funding to build the community BBQ facilities, renovate the tennis clubhouse and install a new fence at Clive Kelly Oval. It makes submissions on behalf of the Michelago community to the Snowy Monaro Regional Council and local parliamentary members.

Check out the For Locals tab on this website for information about rural fire brigades, the pony club, Landcare, the churches, the memorial hall, the cricket club, the choir, and many more ways to get involved.
